A new arti­cle warns those prone to drug aller­gies should pay more atten­tion when con­sum­ing fruits or veg­eta­bles. That’s because the pes­ti­cide strep­to­mycin (strep-to-MY-sin) is often used to pre­vent the growth of bac­te­ria, fungi and algae on pro­duce.
