Germany Listened in on Then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Phone Call

Ger­many media reports say their country’s secu­rity ser­vice agents recorded a phone con­ser­va­tion involv­ing then Sec­re­tary of State Hillary Clin­ton. The phone call was inter­cepted while she was on a U.S. gov­ern­ment plane. Ger­man gov­ern­ment sources say inter­cept­ing the call was an acci­dent, and add it was idiocy that it hadn’t been imme­di­ately destroyed. There’s also a report that a Ger­man spy ser­vice had been ordered to eaves­drop on another NATO mem­ber coun­try. The U.S. gov­ern­ment was embar­rassed by Edward Snow­den last year when he revealed our gov­ern­ment had spied on Ger­man offi­cials includ­ing Chan­cel­lor Angela Merkel.
