Ferguson Police release surveillance tape

In Ferguson, Missouri, Police say media requests forced them to release the surveillance tape under the Freedom of Information Act. the tape… allegedly shows 18-year-old Michael Brown stealing a box of cigars shortly before he was shot by a police officer. “So we’ve had this tape for awhile and we had to diligently review the information that was in the tape to determine if there was any other reason to keep it, anybody else would be charged in a crime and we determined that was not going to be the case.” Lawyers for the Brown family say they were blindsided by allegations he was suspected of stealing a box of cigars. Chief Jackson says the officer didn’t know about the robbery and stopped Brown and a companion for walking in the street.
